Formations operate and strike enemy ground targets. Developers say the nuclear submarine is equipped with a vertical launcher, which allows for a high-velocity cruise missile flush that can destroy multiple highly protected targets, including those equipped with anti-missile defense systems.

Each submarine has a total of eight vertical launchers and can carry 24 Onyx or Calibre cruise missiles. In addition, the submarines are equipped with 10 torpedo tubes of 533 mm caliber, capable of firing 30 torpedoes.

The torpedo missile system is capable of single and collision firing. "According to the Malachite Design Bureau, the Type 885 nuclear submarine is equipped with a new generation of main power units, which will reduce the acoustic parameters of the submarine.

According to Konstantin Sivkov, a communications member of the Russian Academy of Missile and Rocket Science, one of the main advantages of Type 885 nuclear submarines is that they have low noise levels and powerful sonar equipment that allows them to "detect foreign submarines from a distance." 

In addition, the Russian submarines have a unique weapon system that can render an aircraft carrier or fleet of aircraft carriers inoperable even with only half the ammunition. Russian submarines are unique in this respect in the world.

According to Russian military expert Dmitry Litovkin, the 885M is currently the most modern submarine in the Russian Navy and can use a wide range of weapons, including "caliber" and "Onyx" missiles.

At the same time, he stressed that the Yasen class is one of the most technologically advanced and secretive projects of the Russian Navy, so not much information about the project has been disclosed. 

The main task of the Yasen class is to destroy enemy ships, he said. A "ship-killer", Litovkin said, the Yasen-class submarines can sail in water far from the Russian coast, sink aircraft carriers, escort fleets and perform other tasks to protect Russia's security, including striking coastal targets.

According to the Russian media, in the future the submarine will be able to be equipped with the Zircon hypersonic missile, the missile is currently undergoing state testing, the equipment will greatly enhance the combat capability of the Yasen class nuclear submarine. 

The Zircon missiles, which cannot be intercepted, are capable of sinking aircraft carriers, cruisers, or striking coastal installations. However, it is likely that the primary weapon of these submarines will remain the "caliber" missile, which can address a variety of missions.

According to Sivkov, the 885M submarine will become the main strike force of the Russian submarine fleet in the future. This type of submarine will effectively ensure Russia's security and fight against enemy submarines as well as surface ships. 

There is no doubt that with continuous improvement, this submarine will become the basis of the Russian Navy's strike submarine force.
